Move over Sudoku

Have you ever tried to solve a Sudoku puzzle filling numbers from 1 to 9 in a square of nine rows by nine columns without duplicating of any the numbers in rows and columns? I’ve been doing the easier Sudoku puzzles for a while and still find myself stump at times. The new “kid on the block” is Balance Benders, a critical thinking educational puzzles and multiple award winner.

In Balance Benders students solve balance puzzles that are more fun and addictive than Sudoku puzzles at the same time they are developing problem-solving skills and pre-algebra skills.  Youngsters must analyze each balance to identify clues and then integrate information to solve the puzzle.  Puzzles gradually introduce more challenging concepts to give students confidence and ability to master algebra word problems.

These critical thinking puzzles come in Beginning and additional 3 levels cover in grades from 2 through 12.  Reviews of this educational toy indicate that children just love these Bender books and even ask to spend more time on them. Some parents feel these puzzle take a difficult skill to master and make an absolute blast for the kids.  The beginning book get children hooked and wanting to do more.  A middle school teacher found these puzzles meeting a great need of building deductive reasoning and understanding of balancing equations.  Explore educational puzzles at LearningToyFun.com
